Moringa stenopetala
A native-only Broadleaf tree card with a soft hit, moderate armour, and eventual immunity to splash and spread damage.
Cabbage Tree is a Broadleaf tree card, native to Africa and listed as invasive nowhere, which makes it native-only. It always plays the buffer role: a +15% health cushion and a bench overshield projected onto your active plant. There is no attacker version. See nativity and categories.
The starter attack, Raysteal, unlocks at level 1 for 2 Sun and hits for 29. Takes the light by force β strike and heal 10%.
The free once-per-battle ability, Stand Replacement, unlocks at level 25 and costs no Sun. A fire that takes the whole stand β the foe burns, and so do its neighbours.
The advanced attack, Out on a Limb, unlocks at level 40 for 6 Sun and lands for 34. Two swings from the same limb. A genuine step up from the starter, and the reason to take the card past level 40. See moves.
Tannin Load arrives on the first riser at level 10 at full strength: strike this card and the attacker takes Wither, losing attack power for the rest of the fight.
Canopy Gap stacks on at level 68, granting immunity to spread and splash effects β the ones that reach past the front plant to hit others. It is a niche immunity that becomes very valuable against opponents built around area damage. See statuses.
The species record lists no toxicity and no trait keywords, so no poison rider applies. For field gear, the armour reading is modest for a tree, so protective gear helps more here than on its heavier relatives. Its growth habit is not vine, epiphyte or hemiepiphyte, so a Moss Pole does not apply. Its conservation status is data-deficient.
At level 40 the native side reads 103 HP and 16 ATK. The attack stat is low. Armour is 13, moderate rather than strong. Retreat is 16 Sun. Opening tempo is 32 and sustained tempo is 34, both middling. See stats.
By level 100 health reaches 190 and attack 28, with armour at 26. Armour does climb with wood density, but from a lower base than most trees, so the matured card is sturdy rather than a wall. Retreat rises to 33 Sun and the inverted tempo has fallen to its floor.
Broadleaf tree is Competitor: strong into Ruderal β annual forbs, grasses, aquatics and bulbs β and weak to Specialist, meaning succulents, conifers, ferns and epiphytes. See weaknesses and resistances.
A middling support tree. Its damage is low, its armour is unexceptional for the category, and being native-only means there is no aggressive version to grow into. The advanced attack is a real improvement but arrives late and still is not large.
Where it earns a slot is against area damage: from level 68 it simply cannot be caught by splash or spread, which is a specific and sometimes decisive answer. Outside that matchup it is a body with a recoil trait.
It is edible and its economy group is leaf, so a nitrogen soil amendment pays it Γ1.25 coins β worth noting, since most trees in the collection are fruit-group and want phosphorus instead. See the battle lab.
Leveling trades speed for power. A plantβs tempo (SPD + INI, the turn-order edge) fades as it grows, while its power (HP + ATK + DEF, net of the rising Sun cost to retreat) climbs. The crossover is the level where power overtakes tempo: below it the plant is a fast skirmisher, above it a heavyweight. Shown for each stance this plant can actually hold β native adds a HP cushion, invasive an attack edge, neutral neither β with the card at its crossover and fully grown at LvΒ 100.
