Overview

Albizia lankaensis is a Broadleaf tree β€” a broadleaf tree that plays as a defensive bench card. It is native to South Asia and is recorded as invasive nowhere in the current regions, so it holds only the native role: an HP buffer, not an attacker. Expect it to soak hits and prop up the rest of your team rather than close out a fight on its own.

Moves

Its opening attack, Branch Slam, unlocks at Lv 1 and costs 2 Sun for 31 damage. The free once-per-battle ability, Gap Capture, comes online at Lv 25: Takes the fallen giant's light: +5 ATK, kept for the match. β€” a permanent attack buff rather than a hit, so it deals no damage of its own. The advanced attack, Out on a Limb (Lv 40, 6 Sun), lands 34 across two swings from the same limb. None of its moves carry the initiative rider, so turn order is decided purely by its tempo stats.

Abilities

This card keeps two always-on traits, and they arrive far apart rather than together. Buttress Roots comes in at Lv 10: the trunk cannot be Bound, so a pin that would skip its turn simply fails against it. Epicormic Buds stacks on only at Lv 68 β€” dormant buds under the bark give it a seeded 35% chance to survive an otherwise-lethal hit and return at 35% HP. That revive posts its own odds, roughly one in three, not the 60% that governs regen traits, so treat it as an occasional reprieve rather than a safety net.

Features

It carries no trait keywords, and as a broadleaf tree it is not a climber, so it takes no Moss Pole. As a native-only card, fit it with gear that rewards a bench buffer β€” anything that hardens its DEF or extends the overshield it projects. See field gear for the full list.

Stats

Read at Lv 40, where its whole kit is unlocked, it carries 103 HP behind 24 DEF β€” a firm, tree-tier wall that makes the diminishing armor math (a hit scales by ATK divided by ATK plus DEF; see stats) work in its favor. As a native it gets the +15% HP cushion, and while it sits on your bench it projects a green HP overshield bar onto your active card, sized by its rarity. Its opening tempo 45 runs ahead of its sustained tempo 35, so it is a slightly quicker starter than cruiser β€” it tends to move early on turn 1 and get out-paced later. Retreat costs 14 Sun.

At Level 100

Maturing turns it into a proper wall: HP climbs to 190 and DEF hardens to 56 on wood density, while ATK only reaches 25 β€” the growth is nearly all bulk and armor, not offense. Retreat rises to 27 Sun as the old tree becomes more rooted, and its tempo pips sink to roughly a percent of cap, so it gives up almost all of the turn-order edge it had young. What leveling buys is durability; what it costs is speed.

Weaknesses & Resistances

As a broadleaf tree it belongs to the Competitor succession group. It hits Ruderal plants (annual forbs, grasses, aquatics, bulbs) for x1.5 and takes only x0.667 from them, but Specialists (succulents, conifers, ferns, epiphytes) turn that around and hit it hard.

Gameplay uses

Play it as a native bench anchor: park it to feed the overshield, and swap it in to soak a big attack behind its DEF. It is a solid support piece rather than a finisher β€” its attack is modest and it holds no invasive attacker role at all. As a legume (Fabaceae), one in four caught in the wild arrives with the Nitrogen amendment already in the soil, a roughly 300-coin head start that decomposes after about a month. It is not edible, so any fertilizer you feed it banks x1.25 XP toward leveling rather than coins. Being bulk-heavy, it is power-favored from a very low level β€” it fights as a heavyweight rather than a skirmisher for almost its whole life, crossing over around Lv 25.

Total power

Leveling trades speed for power. A plant’s tempo (SPD + INI, the turn-order edge) fades as it grows, while its power (HP + ATK + DEF, net of the rising Sun cost to retreat) climbs. The crossover is the level where power overtakes tempo: below it the plant is a fast skirmisher, above it a heavyweight. Shown for each stance this plant can actually hold β€” native adds a HP cushion, invasive an attack edge, neutral neither β€” with the card at its crossover and fully grown at LvΒ 100.
