Sorbus aucuparia
A Eurasian tree that is a networked healer at home and a hard invasive elsewhere, hardening into a wall with a bench-heal at high level.
The rowan is a Broadleaf tree β a tough tree with a bench-support streak. It is native to East Asia and Europe and invasive in eastern and western North America, Oceania and South America, so it plays a networked wall/healer role at home and a hard-hitting attacker role abroad. It is one of the more well-rounded cards in this batch.
Its starter, Branch Slam, unlocks at level 1 for 2 Sun and deals 35 native / 39 invasive. The free ability Leaf Litter opens at level 25: Buries the ground in litter β the foe's whole bench withers. The advanced attack Transpiration Drain unlocks at level 40 for 6 Sun and hits for 30 native / 33 invasive while draining. No move carries an initiative rider.
It keeps two always-on traits. From level 10 it holds Tannin Load: an attacker that strikes it is Withered (oak-style tannins). From level 68 it adds Mycorrhiza, a bench heal that fires about 60% of the time while the tree is part of a Network (with canopy trees on the bench) β so at high level it quietly repairs its team. The bench heal is unreliable by design; treat it as a bonus, not a plan.
No combat keyword, and as a broadleaf-tree it is not Moss-Pole-eligible. Its Mycorrhiza wants canopy trees on the bench to form a Network, so it pairs well with other trees. A Calcium/Magnesium amendment stacks flat DEF on an already-high tree armor value.
At level 40: HP 103 native / 89 invasive, ATK 27 native / 36 invasive, DEF 26 β solid tree armor that only climbs. The invasive ATK is markedly higher than the native's, the introduced-range term. On tempo it is a fast cruiser: a good opening initiative (35) and a high sustained speed (50) unusual for a tree, so it both opens and holds tempo well. As a native it gets the +15% HP cushion and bench overshield; as an invasive it pays Faustian self-damage per attack and concedes 2 prizes on knockout.
By level 100 DEF hardens to 61 from wood density, HP reaches 190 native / 165 invasive, and ATK 49 / 73. Retreat climbs to 29 Sun and its tempo, high for a tree early, falls to roughly 1% of cap. It matures into a hard wall that also mends its bench β a rare mix of durability and support.
Broadleaf-tree is in the Competitor group: Γ1.5 into Ruderal, Γ0.667 from them, Γ1.5 taken from Specialists. Neutral against other Competitors and the Weird categories.
At home, play it as a networked wall: pair it with canopy trees so its Mycorrhiza heals the bench while its armor and Tannin Load grind foes down. Abroad, it is a durable invasive attacker with above-average tempo for its bulk. It is an edible fruit plant, so the matching Phosphorus fertilizer pays Γ1.25 coins β a good coin-earner on top of its battle value. It is power-favored from a low level given its early bulk, but its tempo edge keeps it a capable opener too. Each plant runs one Sun bar (cap 120, refilling +1 every 15 minutes). The starter attack costs 2 Sun, the advanced attack 6, and the ability is free β it is priced by being usable only once per battle. Retreating to the bench costs 14 Sun, and an empty bar attack-locks the card until it refills. From level 52 it regenerates Sun mid-battle, and at level 85 a capstone makes the starter free and drops the advanced attack to 2 Sun.

Leveling trades speed for power. A plantβs tempo (SPD + INI, the turn-order edge) fades as it grows, while its power (HP + ATK + DEF, net of the rising Sun cost to retreat) climbs. The crossover is the level where power overtakes tempo: below it the plant is a fast skirmisher, above it a heavyweight. Shown for each stance this plant can actually hold β native adds a HP cushion, invasive an attack edge, neutral neither β with the card at its crossover and fully grown at LvΒ 100.
