Rhaphidophora tetrasperma
A native-only climbing vine that wilts the enemy active and grinds out long fights, but never appears as an attacker.
Mini Monstera is a climbing Vine that fights as a slow, grinding support card. It is native to Oceania and South Asia and has no invasive form, so the arena only ever fields it as a native buffer for your bench, never as an attacker. It is a modest card with light damage and thin armor, leaning on a wilt aura and steady chip rather than any burst.
Its starter attack, Creeping Smother, unlocks at level 1 and costs 2 Sun, dealing about 24 damage; beyond the target it splashes a little onto the enemy bench. The free once-per-battle ability, Structural Parasite, arrives at level 25: Rides the foe down and takes its place β it's driven out, withering. The advanced attack, Smother, unlocks at level 40 for 6 Sun and hits for 37, sapping the target as it lands. Most of your Mini Monsteras sit below level 40, where only the starter is available. None of its moves carry an initiative rider, so it never seizes a turn.
Mini Monstera keeps one always-on trait: allelopathy, a wilt aura that saps the enemy active. It draws a single eligible trait, so the aura comes in at half strength on the level 10 riser and matures on the level 68 one. Once earned it is always on, not a chance effect. See Abilities.
It carries no trait keywords and is non-toxic, so nothing punishes an attacker for hitting it: no contact recoil and no poison rider. Its growth habit is terrestrial, so despite the climbing name it is not eligible for a Moss Pole. As a native buffer, defensive field gear such as a Cloche or a calcium/magnesium amendment for a little extra DEF suits its patient game.
At level 40 Mini Monstera reads 103 HP and 16 ATK. DEF is only 6, typical of the vine band, so it takes hits with little armor. Its tempo is a slow start into a faster cruise: turn 1 runs on its initiative (35) and every turn after on its SPD (38), so it is out-paced off the mark but relentless once a fight drags on. Retreat costs 12 Sun. As a native it gains a +15% HP cushion and, while benched, projects an HP overshield onto your active. See Stats.
Matured to level 100, Mini Monstera climbs to 190 HP and 28 ATK, but its DEF only reaches 10 β as a soft vine it gains bulk in health, almost none in armor, so it stays exposed to any real hitter. Retreat rises to 23 Sun and its tempo has sunk to roughly 1% of cap, so a mature plant acts last against almost anything young. Maturing buys survivability and a full-strength wilt aura, but never turns it into a threat.
As a vine, Mini Monstera is in the Competitor succession group. It strikes Ruderal plants (annual forbs, grasses, bulbs) for x1.5 and takes only x0.667 from them, but it is weak to Specialist plants (succulents, conifers, ferns), which hit it for x1.5 while shrugging off its blows. Against other Competitors and the off-wheel Weird group the matchup is neutral. See Weaknesses & Resistances.
Play Mini Monstera as a patient native buffer: park it to feed the bench overshield and let its wilt aura and bench splash wear the enemy down while a stronger hitter does the real work. It is honestly a weak attacker and a support-only card, so do not expect it to close games. Its value is economic β it is inedible, so any nutrient you feed it banks x1.25 XP toward leveling. It fights as a slow skirmisher early and leans on its bulk as it matures, crossing over around level 25; there is never a reason to hold it back from leveling.
Leveling trades speed for power. A plantβs tempo (SPD + INI, the turn-order edge) fades as it grows, while its power (HP + ATK + DEF, net of the rising Sun cost to retreat) climbs. The crossover is the level where power overtakes tempo: below it the plant is a fast skirmisher, above it a heavyweight. Shown for each stance this plant can actually hold β native adds a HP cushion, invasive an attack edge, neutral neither β with the card at its crossover and fully grown at LvΒ 100.
