Solanum tectum
A fast Annual forb card that gets quicker as the fight goes on and finishes with a very heavy advanced attack.
Solanum tectum is a Annual forb card with both roles: native to Africa and both halves of North America, invasive in Europe. Native it is a cushioned bench piece; invasive it is a slightly sharper attacker β the single invasive region keeps that step small. See nativity and categories.
The starter attack, Cultivate, unlocks at level 1 for 2 Sun, reading 30 native and 30 invasive. Works the ground it stands in β strike and heal 12%.
The free once-per-battle ability, Founder Effect, unlocks at level 25 and costs no Sun. One founder, a whole population: heal 55% and +5 ATK.
The advanced attack, Ragweed Burst, unlocks at level 40 for 6 Sun, reading 46 native and 46 invasive. An all-in burst of growth. That is a very large step up from the starter and easily the reason to level this card past level 40. See moves.
Rapid Cycling arrives on the first riser at level 10 and works by accumulation rather than a flat bonus: it adds a little speed every checkup, building up to a ceiling as the fight goes on. The card therefore gets faster the longer it stays in, which is unusual β most cards slow relative to their opponents over time.
Soil Seed Bank stacks on at level 68: a 50% chance to survive a knockout, returning at a low fraction of health. It is a seeded roll, not something you can influence.
The species record lists no toxicity and no trait keywords on this card's schedule, so no poison rider applies. For field gear, anything that keeps it on the field lets its speed trait accumulate. Its growth habit is not vine, epiphyte or hemiepiphyte, so a Moss Pole does not apply.
At level 40 native reads 103 HP and 20 ATK; invasive reads 89 HP and 20 ATK. Both attack figures are moderate. Armour is 2, effectively nothing. Retreat is 16 Sun. Opening tempo is 51, near the top of the range, with sustained tempo at 34 before Rapid Cycling is counted. Invasive it pays Faustian bench damage per damaging attack and concedes 2 prizes on knockout. See stats.
By level 100 native reaches 190 HP and 36 ATK, invasive 165 HP and 36 ATK, with armour only at 3. A glass cannon at the cap. Retreat rises to 33 Sun and the inverted tempo has sunk to its floor β but Rapid Cycling partly offsets that, since it builds speed back over the course of a fight regardless of the base figure.
Annual forb is Ruderal. Ruderal reclaims from Specialist, so this card hits succulents, conifers, ferns and epiphytes harder. It loses to Competitor β perennial herbs, vines, shrubs and broadleaf trees. See weaknesses and resistances.
A card that rewards patience with an aggressive plant. Its starter attack is unremarkable, so early on it is a fast body and little else; the advanced attack changes that entirely, and the accumulating speed trait means it keeps pulling ahead on turn order the longer it survives.
No armour is the standing problem, and the small invasive step means the attacker role adds less here than on most cards. The level 68 revival is what lets it stay in long enough for its speed to matter.
It is not eaten, so a soil amendment earns no matching fertiliser coins and instead banks the Γ1.25 XP an inedible plant pays. See the battle lab.
Leveling trades speed for power. A plantβs tempo (SPD + INI, the turn-order edge) fades as it grows, while its power (HP + ATK + DEF, net of the rising Sun cost to retreat) climbs. The crossover is the level where power overtakes tempo: below it the plant is a fast skirmisher, above it a heavyweight. Shown for each stance this plant can actually hold β native adds a HP cushion, invasive an attack edge, neutral neither β with the card at its crossover and fully grown at LvΒ 100.
