Solanum mammosum
A fast Annual forb card with a very strong starter attack that scatters damage across the enemy board when it dies.
Nipplefruit is a Annual forb card with both roles: native to South America and invasive across Africa, East Asia, Europe, both halves of North America, Oceania and South Asia β seven regions, a very wide spread. Native it is a cushioned bench piece; invasive it is a serious attacker. See nativity and categories.
The starter attack, Quick Bloom, unlocks at level 1 for 2 Sun, reading 41 native and 44 invasive. Seizes initiative: first in the wild, acts again on a kill. That is a strong number for a starter costing this little, and it is available from level 1.
The free once-per-battle ability, Ruderal Rush, unlocks at level 25 and costs no Sun. Weedy haste β a burst of speed, kept for the match.
The advanced attack, Covercrop Crush, unlocks at level 40 for 6 Sun, reading 31 native and 34 invasive. Blankets the ground β the foe and its bench wither. It hits for less than the starter at three times the Sun cost, so keep leading with the starter. See moves.
Ephemeral Bolt arrives on the first riser at level 10, adding attack power while the card is above half health. It burns bright and fades, so the bonus applies to your opening exchanges and disappears once the card is worn down.
Ballistic Dispersal stacks on at level 68. When this card is knocked out it chips every enemy on the board β the squirting-cucumber effect. It is a parting shot that reaches past the plant that killed it, so removing this card is never clean.
The species record lists no toxicity and no trait keywords on this card's schedule, so no poison rider applies despite the genus. For field gear, anything that keeps it above half health protects its attack bonus as well as its life. Its growth habit is not vine, epiphyte or hemiepiphyte, so a Moss Pole does not apply.
At level 40 native reads 103 HP and 23 ATK; invasive reads 89 HP and 32 ATK. Armour is 2, effectively nothing. Retreat is 16 Sun. Opening tempo is 47, near the top of the range, with sustained tempo at 34. Invasive it pays Faustian bench damage per damaging attack and concedes 2 prizes on knockout. See stats.
By level 100 native reaches 190 HP and 42 ATK, invasive 165 HP and 64 ATK, with armour only at 3. A glass cannon at the cap. Retreat rises to 33 Sun and the inverted tempo has sunk to its floor, which matters because acting first is how this card converts its starter attack.
Annual forb is in the Ruderal succession group. Ruderal reclaims from Specialist, so this card hits succulents, conifers, ferns and epiphytes harder. It loses to Competitor β perennial herbs, vines, shrubs and broadleaf trees. See weaknesses and resistances.
A strong aggressive card that is good immediately, since its best attack is the starter. Lead with it, act first, and rely on the attack bonus while it is healthy.
The fragility is total, but the level 68 death effect turns that into a threat of its own β an opponent clearing this card takes damage across their whole board for the trouble. Against Specialist-group opponents the type bonus stacks on top.
It is not eaten, so a soil amendment earns no matching fertiliser coins and instead banks the Γ1.25 XP an inedible plant pays. See the battle lab.
Leveling trades speed for power. A plantβs tempo (SPD + INI, the turn-order edge) fades as it grows, while its power (HP + ATK + DEF, net of the rising Sun cost to retreat) climbs. The crossover is the level where power overtakes tempo: below it the plant is a fast skirmisher, above it a heavyweight. Shown for each stance this plant can actually hold β native adds a HP cushion, invasive an attack edge, neutral neither β with the card at its crossover and fully grown at LvΒ 100.
