Polygonum persicaria
A soft annual-forb with a sunny self-heal and a reseed save, currently mapped to no region so it plays as a neutral card.
Spotted ladysthumb is an annual-forb: a fast, soft ruderal that leans on speed and a little self-repair. It is currently mapped to no region as either native or invasive, so in most arenas it fights as a plain neutral card β no +15% native HP cushion and no invasive attacker edge. Where it does count as native it would gain the cushion and the bench overshield; where invasive it would gain the harder-hitting attacker profile and the Faustian bench cost. By default, neither applies.
Its starter, Hypergrowth (Level 1, 2 Sun), deals 30 as a neutral card (33 were it invasive) and Bolts upward mid-fight: +3 ATK, kept for the match. The free ability, Ruderal Rush (25), is Weedy haste β a burst of speed, kept for the match. The advanced attack, Reckless Growth (40, 6 Sun), deals 37 and Grows past what it can support: +4 ATK, kept. See Moves.
From Level 10 it holds Photoblastic: while the weather is sunny it heals a small slice of its maximum HP at each checkup β a steady trickle, though it stops entirely out of the sun. At Level 68 Reseed stacks on: when it is knocked out it leaves a fresh Seedling token on your bench (a reduced body with no moves that cannot be captured). The parent still dies and still concedes its prize, so Reseed buys you a body to swap in, not a survival.
No combat keywords and no Moss Pole eligibility. With its very low DEF a Calcium/Magnesium field gear amendment helps most; inedible, so nutrients bank XP rather than coins.
At Level 40 the card reads 103 HP and 22 ATK (its cushioned native figures; the neutral body it actually fields with is a touch lower), and its DEF is just 2. Retreat is 16 Sun. Its opening initiative is 32 and its sustained SPD is 51 β quick off the mark and quicker still as the fight runs on, one of the faster weeds in the pool.
By Level 100 HP reaches 190 and ATK 40, while DEF stays soft at 3. Retreat rises to 33 Sun and the inverted tempo drops to a fraction of its youthful value, so the speed lead thins out with age even as raw bulk grows.
As a ruderal it hits Specialist categories for 1.5x and is resisted to 0.667x by Competitors; neutral against ruderals and Weird. See the succession wheel.
A fast, fragile card best used to strike first and chip early, then swap out before it is punished. The sunny self-heal and Reseed give it a little more staying power than most annual-forbs, but its armor is negligible, so it is a coin-and-collection piece rather than a carry. Inedible: fertilizer banks 1.25x XP. It plays as a skirmisher until about Level 35, after which its bulk and attack lead β level it up, it only gets stronger.
Leveling trades speed for power. A plantβs tempo (SPD + INI, the turn-order edge) fades as it grows, while its power (HP + ATK + DEF, net of the rising Sun cost to retreat) climbs. The crossover is the level where power overtakes tempo: below it the plant is a fast skirmisher, above it a heavyweight. Shown for each stance this plant can actually hold β native adds a HP cushion, invasive an attack edge, neutral neither β with the card at its crossover and fully grown at LvΒ 100.
