Acer cissifolium
An East Asian broadleaf tree that plays purely as a native wall, with bench-splashing moves and a growing heartwood-armor trait.
Ash leaved Maple is a Broadleaf tree that plays as a heavy, high-HP wall. As a tree it sits at the top of the armor range and carries a deep biomass pool. It is native to East Asia and invasive nowhere in the current regions, so it is a native-only card: it fills the buffer role and never becomes an attacker.
Its starter attack, Acorn Drop, unlocks at Lv 1 and costs 2 Sun, dealing 23 as the native card it always is: Drops mast β also nicks the bench. It is a bench-splash starter β it lands a normal hit and also chips the foe's bench.
At Lv 25 it gains a free once-per-battle ability, Stand Replacement, which costs no Sun: A fire that takes the whole stand β the foe burns, and so do its neighbours. That reaches past the active to burn its neighbours as well, useful for softening a full bench.
Its advanced attack, Crown Shade, unlocks at Lv 40 for 6 Sun and hits for 31: Casts deep shade that saps the foe. Neither move carries an initiative rider, which fits a slow tree that wins on bulk, not speed β see turn order.
It keeps two always-on traits, arriving at different levels. From Lv 10 it holds Buttress Roots, an immunity trait: a buttressed trunk cannot be pinned, so it is immune to the Bound status and can always retreat or reposition. A second, different trait stacks on at Lv 68: Heartwood Core, which adds DEF that scales with the plant's level β small when it first arrives, larger as the tree matures toward Lv 100 β layering more armor onto an already tough card. The two do not arrive together; the extra heartwood armor is a late-game reward.
It carries no special trait keywords, and as a tree it is not a Moss Pole climber. For field gear it wants defensive amendments β a Ca/Mg feed stacks flat DEF onto an already high tree wall β and since it is native-only there is no attacker build to weigh. Its role is to be nearly unkillable on the field or a sturdy anchor on the bench.
Read at Lv 40, it carries 140 HP β a large tree pool with the native +15% cushion β and a low ATK of 15, so it is a defender rather than a striker. DEF is 23 at this level and climbs toward a full tree wall as it matures. On tempo, turn 1 is set by initiative (19) and later turns by SPD (16) β both are low, so it is slow at both ends and does not contest turn order; it simply outlasts. Retreat costs 18 Sun. While benched it projects an HP overshield bar onto your active, sized by its rarity.
Grown to Lv 100, its HP rises to 276 and its ATK only to 25, so the low-attack identity holds β this is a wall to the end. DEF climbs to 52, set by its category and wood density and topped up by Heartwood Core, hardening it into serious tree armor. Retreat rises to 39 Sun as it roots down, and the inverted tempo has sunk to roughly its floor, so a mature copy is slow but extremely hard to remove. Maturing buys pure durability at the cost of speed it never used.
As a broadleaf tree it is in the Competitor succession group. It deals Γ1.5 to Ruderal categories β annual-forb, grass, aquatic and bulb β and is resisted, taking only Γ0.667, by Specialists β succulent, conifer, fern and epiphyte. Its low ATK dulls even its strong matchups, so its defense carries it, not its offense.
Run Ash leaved Maple as a wall and a bench anchor. Its bench-splash starter and stand-burning ability let it chip a whole enemy bench while it soaks, which is more useful than its small direct attack suggests, and its overshield backs up whatever active you field. It will rarely close out a fight alone, so pair it with a striker. It is inedible, so any fertilizer you feed it banks the Γ1.25 XP (growth) bonus rather than coins. As a heavy tree it is power-favored from a very low level, crossing over around Lv 1 β below that its speed matters more, above it its bulk and armor dominate.
Leveling trades speed for power. A plantβs tempo (SPD + INI, the turn-order edge) fades as it grows, while its power (HP + ATK + DEF, net of the rising Sun cost to retreat) climbs. The crossover is the level where power overtakes tempo: below it the plant is a fast skirmisher, above it a heavyweight. Shown for each stance this plant can actually hold β native adds a HP cushion, invasive an attack edge, neutral neither β with the card at its crossover and fully grown at LvΒ 100.
